Volkswagen Tayron | A Study in CGI Lighting & Realism
I'd like to present my latest automotive CGI study, focused on achieving maximum realism in the depiction of the new Volkswagen Tayron.
For this project, I used a high-quality 3D model, which allowed me to concentrate entirely on what I consider the soul of a great image: the lighting. The main challenge was to create a believable and impactful atmosphere that would enhance the SUV's aggressive and elegant design lines.

The Lighting and Rendering Process
Lighting was the central focus of this project. Instead of relying solely on an HDRI map, I developed a precise, hybrid lighting scheme within Blender. Each light source was strategically positioned to "sculpt" the car's bodywork, generate controlled reflections, and ensure that every curve and design detail was highlighted. This meticulous approach was crucial for achieving a level of depth and realism that goes beyond a standard setup.
The entire workflow, including scene assembly, lighting, rendering, and the main color grading, was executed in Blender. Photoshop was used only in the final stage for fine-tuning and minor touch-ups to ensure every detail was perfect.

Programs used:
Blender (Scene, Lighting, Render, Color Grading)
Photoshop (Final Touch-ups)
I hope you enjoy the result!
